چکیده

An approach for enhancing the NMR sensitivity of the central transition of spin-3r2 nuclei is presented. Through selective excitation of the satellite transitions using a fast 1808 phase alternating pulse train during magic-angle spinning a < : selectively excited state is prepared where the populations of all eigenstates m with the same sign of m are equal, resulting in an enhanced central msy1r2TM1r2 transition polarization. Numerical simulations predict enhancements up to a factor of 2 and values of 1.7 and 1.9 have been obtained experimentally for Na in Na C O and Rb in RbClO , respectively. 2 2 4 4 We observe no significant anisotropic lineshape distortion. The conditions for optimum enhancement are discussed. q 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.

QCPMG-MAS NMR of half-integer quadrupolar nuclei.

By combination of fast magic-angle spinning (MAS) and detection of the free-induction decay during a rotor-synchronized quadrupolar Carr-Purcell-Meiboom-Gill (QCPMG) train of refocusing pulses, the sensitivity of quadrupolar-echo MAS NMR spectra for the central transition of half-integer quadrupolar nuclei exhibiting large quadrupolar couplings may be significantly enhanced. Enhancements by an ...

Sensitivity enhancement and heteronuclear distance measurements in biological 17O solid-state NMR.

In this contribution we present a comprehensive approach to study hydrogen bonding in biological and biomimetic systems through 17O and 17O-1H solid-state NMR combined with density functional theory calculations of 17O and 1H NMR parameters. We explore the signal enhancement of 17O in L-tyrosine.HCl using repetitive double-frequency swept radio frequency pulses in solid-state NMR. The technique...

Signal Enhancement of the Central-Transition Signal in Solid-State NMR of Quadrupolar Nuclei with Spin I =5/2 Using Fast Amplitude-Modulated (FAM) Pulse Trains: A Computational Study

In solid-state NMR of quadrupolar nuclei with half-integer spin I, a variety of fast amplitude-modulated (FAM) pulse trains have been used to enhance the intensity of the central-transition signal, by transferring spin population from the satellite transitions. Here, we describe the results of extensive numerical calculations using the Simpson program package to evaluate and compare the signal ...
